Company's Solutions
Aquarius Spectrum offers a comprehensive product portfolio of advanced hardware and software solutions designed to revolutionize water supply infrastructure management. Our technologies empower water utilities to detect and prevent leaks, enabling proactive continuous monitoring and efficient management of water networks.
Our product portfolio includes Fixed leak detection, Mobile leak detection, and Pipe Condition Assessment.
Leak Detection Systems: We provide state-of-the-art leak detection systems, both mobile and fixed, that utilize advanced acoustic sensors and data analytics algorithms. These systems enable early detection and pinpoint accurate localization of leaks, minimizing water loss and optimizing maintenance efforts.
The most effective and economical approach to identify leaks and evaluate pipe conditions is through daily network monitoring. This proactive method enables the detection of leaks at their initial stages, long before they escalate into disruptive bursts that result in substantial damage and expenses. By promptly identifying rapidly developing leaks, valuable insights can be gained into the overall condition of the pipes, especially when indicating poor conditions. Continuous monitoring empowers efficient network management by providing real-time data, eliminating the need for infrequent ad hoc surveys conducted once every year or two.
AQS fixed sensors (#AQSenseEdge) enable you to continuously monitor the water network daily. These sensors are installed along the pipeline on fire hydrants & valves. They record a 20-sec sample each night and send the data to a cloud server that analyzes the data and performs the correlation between every couple of sensors (Leak Detection by Multi Spectral Correlation). The type of sensor used depends on the pipe material, pipe diameter, and possible installation point. Leak results are presented in a friendly dashboard categorizing the leaks by A, B & C where A is a big-size leak and C is a small leak. The leaks are also presented on a GIS map.
Continuous monitoring on distribution lines is performed by either Accelerometer (vibration) or by Hydrophone sensors depending on pipe material and size. Accelerometers can monitor metal or AC pipes up to 24” while Hydrophones can monitor PVC and PE pipes.
Continuous monitoring on transmission (trunk main) lines is performed by Hydrophone sensors that are tapped into the pipe. With Aquarius Multi-sensor that combines a hydrophone and a pressure sensor in the same electronics, both leaks and pressure transients can be located.
Another option to look for leaks is by periodic surveys performed by Aquarius Mobile Solutions. Aquarius offers a new advanced mobile device that can assist water utilities survey large areas in a fast and efficient way.

At Aquarius Spectrum, we understand the importance of ensuring the optimal condition of your network pipes. Our data management and visualization tools provide a comprehensive ecosystem for storing, curating, and analyzing water network data. Through intuitive dashboards and reports, water utilities gain actionable insights, enabling better decision-making and optimization of resources. AQS Pipe Condition Assessment is a powerful tool that brings new insights to the table, combining big data analytics from multiple sources to assess the condition of your pipes accurately.
- History of Pipe Repairs: We value your expertise and knowledge of your network. By incorporating the history of pipe repairs provided by you, we gain valuable insights into the maintenance and repair activities carried out in the past.
- Leaks Detected with Aquarius Solutions: Our cutting-edge Aquarius solutions enable precise leak detection. By analyzing the leaks found through our advanced technology, we gain crucial data points to understand the condition of your network.
- Growth Rate of Leaks: Aquarius goes a step further by monitoring the growth rate of each detected leak. This valuable information helps us assess the rate at which pipe deterioration is occurring.
Using advanced clustering and classification algorithms, our Pipe Condition Assessment system assigns a failure risk to each pipe section. This analysis allows us to identify pipes in poor condition that require immediate attention. These pipes are clearly marked in red, making it easy for you to prioritize their renewal and maintenance efforts.

Prominent Case Study
1. Aquarius Case Study in Mei Avivim (The Water Utility of Tel-Aviv) – Multi-sensor
Mei Avivim was established in 2010 by the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality and entrusted with all the water and sewage services within the city’s area including payment collection. Mei Avivim has 61 km of Transmission mains which are monitored by 87 Aquarius multi-sensors. Aquarius also monitors the connecting distribution lines with 200 additional accelerometer sensors.
Methods
Aquarius multi-sensors consist of hydrophones + pressure sensors to find leaks and pressure transients while transmitting from the same electronic box. These sensors were installed on air valve chambers while tapping into the water.
Results
Dozens of transient events were detected and fixed during the first year. 7 major leaks were identified and repaired.
2. Aquarius and SUEZ New Jersey Case study
SUEZ New Jersey is responsible for supplying drinking water to approximately one million customers in 57 local authorities in New Jersey, USA, operating a water system in length of 2,200 Miles. SUEZ experienced growth in NRW due to leaks that did not surface.
Technology
Between 2018 and September 2021 SUEZ NJ adopted the Aquarius Spectrum solutions and implemented 2,000 acoustic sensors in New Jersey’s operation. These sensors are permanently installed and monitor the underground pipeline on a daily basis, providing accurate location of hidden leaks as well as analysis of the pipeline’s condition to prioritize the replacement of faulty pipeline sections.
Methods
SUEZ NJ shared its history of leak repairs performed in the years 2016-2019 so that Aquarius could perform analytics of both the history of breaks along with an analysis of the background leaks they identified through their acoustic sensors. This was to assess the condition of the SUEZ water pipes and direct them to the right failing pipes so that they optimize their annual replacement budget. In addition, Aquarius monitored the growth rate of background leaks to spot sections with high growth rates, which suggests a poor-condition pipe. Aquarius is the only acoustic system that can measure and estimate the size of a leak – hence it can measure how fast they grow. Most leaks will not grow unless the condition of the pipe is poor.
Results
By using Aquarius Leak Detection capabilities, SUEZ NJ located and fixed more than 500 leaks during 2018- 2021, which helped reduce NRW by more than 20% while savings Billion of Gallons of Water. By using the new Pipe Condition Module, they were able to identify bad sections that suffered from repeated leaks and a fast growth rate of leaks. Today pipe renewal is done by real condition rather than age. Aquarius also supplied SUEZ NJ with a predictive maintenance report that included the pipes they need to replace to avoid future catastrophes.
The Impact
Using Aquarius’ leak detection solution, SUEZ NJ achieved the lowest NRW rates they ever had.
Using Aquarius’ Pipe Condition Assessment module – Replacement of pipes is not done by age anymore but by failure rates analyzed by the AQS system that uses big data analytics and analysis of leak dynamics. SUEZ moved from being reactive to being proactive and efficient.
